When corporate Sport fest events highlight “Larong Pinoy” among other sports games, it becomes a worthy advocacy to preserve and celebrate our Philippine heritage games, culture, and collective identity. Ardent did just that!
Ardent Paralegal & Business Solutions recently hosted a unique Sportsfest event that showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines. Held on October 20th at the SMB Building in Pasig City, the event brought together employees in a celebration of athleticism, camaraderie, and traditional Filipino games, known as "Larong Pinoy."
Departing from the typical corporate sports day format, Ardent's Sportsfest featured Philippine indigenous games such as tumbang preso, kadang kadang, and turumpo among others. These games, deeply ingrained in Filipino history and culture, provided an opportunity for employees to engage in friendly competition while reconnecting with their heritage. The event fostered a spirit of teamwork and sportsmanship, as participants strategized and displayed their skills in these time-honored games. Beyond the recreational aspect, the Sportsfest served as a platform to promote and preserve these cultural treasures so that they may continue to thrive in the modern era, where they face the threat of extinction from the proliferation of mainstream Western sports and alternative digital games.
By embracing traditional Filipino games, Ardent demonstrated its commitment to cultural awareness and employee engagement. The Sportsfest not only provided a memorable experience for participants but also reinforced the company's dedication to fostering a strong sense of community and celebrating the rich heritage of the Philippines.
